Sillons

In the fields, farmers cultivate the land through successive passes. The machines advance, turn, and return along regular paths, tracing lines into the soil. Viewed from above, the cultivated surface appears structured by these parallel or curved furrows, organizing the terrain into a repeated rhythm.

The series Sillons belongs to a contemporary photographic practice attentive to the transformations of the agricultural landscape. Through aerial photography, functional traces become compositional surfaces, revealing an abstraction embedded in the cultivated territory.

These lines reveal a nature shaped and controlled by human intervention. The field is no longer merely a space of production; it emerges as structure, rhythm, and spatial organization.
